Bank End Fisheries rules

Please abide by our rules which are for your protection as well as that of the fishery and respect other anglers / members of staff.

General fishery rules


  • Anglers aged 16 and over can fish un-accompanied
  • Anglers aged under 16 must be accompanied by an adult (i.e. someone aged 21+)
  • All anglers must keep to the banks of the fisheries
  • Fishing from designated pegs only
  • Anglers must not be more than 1 peg away from their rods
  • All nets must be dipped upon arrival
  • No dogs
  • No radios
  • All litter to be removed & taken home
  • Anglers with litter in their immediate vicinity will be banned
  • Fish weighing over 4lb must not be kept in keep-nets (except for matches)
  • Keep-net weights must not exceed 50 -60lb
  • When using more than 1 keep-net (e.g. in a match) fish must be distributed evenly between all keep-nets
  • Fish must be released from keep nets within 5 hours
  • One non fishing guest is allowed per angler
  • No anti-social or generally disruptive behaviour
  • All fish are the property of McCallums Bank End Fisheries

Fishing tackle rules


  • Padded matts or cradles must be used for unhooking
  • No braided mainline
  • No fixed lead rigs
  • In-line method feeder only
  • Barbless hooks only
  • Bait boats are not permitted
  • No spodding or spombing

Fishing bait rules


  • No cat or dog meal baits
  • Ground bait to be fed in pole cup feeder only
  • Floating baits only as hook bait (no lose feeding)
